Aims of the Calder Navigation Society The society is an association of boat owners, anglers, ramblers and others who are interested in promoting the use and sympathetic development of the amenities of the waterways of the Calder Valley. The aims of the society are: a) to stimulate public interest and appreciation of the waterways of the Calder Valley. b) to promote and encourage the use of all such waterways for the benefit of the public. In furtherance of above, but not otherwise: 1) to encourage boat owners and hirers from other parts of the waterway system to cruise along the length of the Calder and Hebble Navigation and the Huddersfield Broad Canal. 2) To promote the use of waterways for commercial carrying, leisure boating, angling, rambling and other compatible activities. |
